Books:

The Book of Lost Words by Joe Gillard, contains, as you may have suspected, English words that are rarely used anymore. Learn some more fun words with this book!

The Language Puzzle by Steven Mithen is a great resource to help teach you more about the development of language.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee has even more books for you!

Dictionaries:

The Merriam Webster dictionary is the spelling bee’s main dictionary, consisting of many incredible words, and great definitions!

The Merriam Webster Unabridged dictionary is just like the Merriam Webster dictionary, but with EVEN MORE WORDS!

The Cambridge Dictionary is another easily accessible and reliable dictionary.
