I had a chance to see the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee this evening. It is kind of crazy that I never saw it until now, given that I won the New Mexico State Spelling Bee on a stage set for this show. Of course, I think the Scripps National Spelling Bee has much more talent, but it is exciting to see this too!

Congratulations to Shrey Parikh, the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion, as of this evening, who won at the end of an amazing spell-off. Shrey broke the record of the most words spelled correctly in a 90-second spell-off with 32 words; the record was previously help by Bruhat Soma, the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion, with 29 words spelled correctly in a 90-second spell-off. Finally, congratulations to all spellers who competed this year! You are all amazing, and I wish you all the best for next year!
